Because license plates don’t lie.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , because Flex Fuel counts as an alternative fuel vehicle, although I’ve only ever seen these plates on T eslas. It does mean this guy pays an additional fee intended for EVs for the privilege of the plate.

I don’t know if this is still the case but:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Buying HOV access, not the plate.
Edit: Apparently still the case:
The following vehicles may use HOV Lanes:
Vehicles with two or more (living and not pre-infant) persons.
Emergency Vehicles (Law Enforcement, Fire, Emergency Medical)
Motorcycles
Buses
Alternative Fuel vehicles properly licensed with an AF license plate

I appreciate him taking it to the natural next level and using epoxy to affix a corroded tailpipe to complete the illusion that this is an ordinary F150, rather than a prototype Arc Reactor equipped Ford...

Huh. Makes more sense now.
Too bad my TDI doesn't count as alternative. Diesel is pretty mainstream. I also hardly ever leave the perimeter and never get on the internstate, so HOV is not for me.

Either this means electric cars aren’t allowed (that’s not fuel right?)
OR, in a couple of years gas cars will be allowed but not electric ones.

could it not be a CNG conversion?

It could be. But it's more likely a loop hole Flex Fuel thing.

So you’re one of THOSE guys...

Whudda mean THOSE guys.
Got one of the best commutes in Atlanta. 6 miles through the speed bump ed streets of residential Buckhead.

I pulled up next to a CNG delivery truck with 3 guys crammed in the front bench. "this guy's sounds like he wants to go" I most certainly did not. I just can't help that the 250 sounds like a school bus. They took off, okay fine I took off, and holy crap did the 21 foot delivery truck boogie. Genuinely impressed.

Making a point of saying that you stay inside the perimeter haha. People from Atlanta make Interstate 285 sound like a bubble.
I drive through Atlanta on 20 all the time. I don’t have problems. Thornton Road is bad to me. Actual Atlanta is just confusing, even with Apple Maps guiding me.

I had to drive all the way to Chamblee this weekend for VW service. 285 is kinda a bubble but it’s a huge bubble.
Technically my commute never leaves Buckhead, but what Google maps says is Buckhead slightly differs from the City's map of Buckhead.
